Industrial base
IMP™ manufacturing is coordinated by the companies’ agencies in P. R. of China and Malaysia, which are a part of the International Medical Products Asia structure. The factories’ location in the countries of South-East Asia is one factor in the company group’s price advantages in the high-quality market segment: the plant which is the source of latex – the main raw material for expendable medical products grows in this region. The Hevea Brasiliensis tree (rubber tree) grows only on a certain latitude and has a short shelf life: in its raw state, latex can be kept for three months. About 40 percent of the cost in manufacturing latex gloves – even in the most developed market segments – is spent on the purchase of the raw latex itself. Another important factor relating to the geography of IMP’s industrial base and goods productions in P. R. of China, Malaysia, and Indonesia is the existence of relatively low wages, which stipulates low manufacturing costs.
